After the AAK chairperson Ramush Haradinaj decided to become part of the meeting called for Monday by Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga, the Vetëvendosje deputy chairperson Driton Çaushi reacted.

Çaushi believes that the meeting with the President is against the nation-wide protest of 17 February. According to Çaushi, solution for the crisis is in the square with the people and not in closed offices with heads of the quisling Government.

“This meeting with (Hashim) Thaçi and (Isa) Mustafa is breaking of the six-month resistance of the joint opposition. Consequently, this meeting is wrong for the opposition and detrimental for Kosovo. Meeting with Thaçi and Mustafa is flirting with them to help their ambitions,” Çaushi said.

The AAK chairperson Ramush Haradinaj justified his decision to take part in the meeting with other leaders of the ruling parties that will be held on Monday upon the invitation of Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga.

Through a public statement, Haradinaj said that in this meeting he will request dissolution of the Assembly and early elections, which he considers as the only possibility for overcoming the current political crisis.

“I will also request that election of the President is done with direct vote from the people. I will inform players of this roundtable that the joint opposition is determined to continue its political and civic opposition until a positive response for their requests is received. I consider judgements of individuals about my stance and AAK stance for this roundtable hurried, or with an agenda. Irrespective to everything, AAK will remain unshaken in the joint opposition front to oppose the state degradation,” the public letter of AAK chairperson Ramush Haradinaj ends.

Other TV broadcasters reported that Srpska List welcomed Jahjaga’s meeting and confirmed their participation in it.
