The Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) has welcomed the proposal of the German Ambassador to Kosovo Angelika Viets for the creation of a mediating commission that would be led by the president of Kosovo or someone acceptable for all sides in an effort to resolve the current political crisis. The AAK would be willing to agree to such a commission if it determines that this could take Kosovo out of the crisis and towards extraordinary elections. AAK spokesperson Muharrem Nitaj said that any proposal that would lead to the resolving of the crisis is “welcomed in principle.” “We still don’t know what the proposal entails. It is still at an early stage and we can’t say more, but in our view, there is no reason to involve such a commission in resolving a crisis that can only be resolved with early elections,” said Nitaj.
