Serbian Government’s Office for Kosovo and Metohija, in relation to the transport of dangerous material from Serbia proper to Kosovo, communicated that the matter is one being dealt by the experts’ discussions in Brussels.

Representatives of Belgrade have solid arguments regarding the transport of dangerous material, they are also applying a constructive approach in order to find an adequate solution. “Each unilateral move, similar to ‘reciprocal measures’ speculated by Pristina-based media, would be an argument of force, even though the dialogue in Brussels exists exactly to avoid such motions and for finding solutions based on regulations,” reads the communique.

The Office also said that Belgrade has instruments at disposal to respond to eventual thoughtless and unilateral moves of Pristina, however they hope that, in the interest of normalization of relations, they won’t be forced to resort to such measures.

The Office also communicated that transport of dangerous materials is regulated by the European Agreement on International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR) to which Belgrade is a signatory party, whereas Kosovo is not.
