The setting on fire of a Serbian house in Orahovac/Rahovec comes as a reaction to the visit of the Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo Branimir Stojanovic and the Director of the Kosovo government’s Office for Communities Ivan Tomic, said Chairperson of the Provisional Body of this town, Golub Kujundzic.

Kujundzic, whose house is next to the one that was set on fire, believes that this was a message aimed at him as he was the host of the meeting with Stojanovic and Tomic. He said that remaining Serbs in this town are still targeted by their fellow Kosovo Albanian residents, and mentioned in this context the desecration of a Serbian graveyard during the All Souls Day. “Dead Serbs are also an obstacle, along with those who are alive, and all that is Serbian or has the Serbian insignia are targeted,” said Kujundzic, whose house was attacked five times so far, and added that attacks on properties are constant.
