Opposition dilemmas on whether to leave the Assembly (Koha Ditore)
The front page article of the paper notes that half of the opposition MPs have already decided not to attend Assembly sessions and to focus exclusively on the street protests that would bring the government down. The Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), and the Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA), have already decided to boycott the Assembly until the decision for early elections. Vetevendosje movement on the other hand considers that pressure from inside is still required. Despite these distinctions, all three parties of the opposition pledged to stay united and undertake actions in the streets until the new elections are announced.
Government concerned over the arrest of KSF official in FYROM (Koha Ditore)
The government of Kosovo issued a press release expressing its concern regarding the arrest of the Chief of Protocol of the Ministry for Kosovo’s Security Force, Gafurr Dugolli, by the authorities of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM), and requested his immediate release. “Mr. Duggolli’s arrest at the border crossing between Kosovo and FYROM, took place based on Serbian illegal arrest warrants, based on already known pretenses of “commitment of war crimes.” The government of Kosovo calls on the Republic of Macedonia, all the other neighboring countries and further, not to undertake police measures towards Kosovo citizens, based on Serbia’s lists, which are drafted in complete contradiction with judicial acts and international practices on this field,” stresses the press release.
Vetevendosje overturns another truck with Serbian products (Koha Ditore)
Activists of Vetevendosje movement overturned another truck with Serbian goods on Friday, along Ibrahim Rugova motorway. In an announcement made on Facebook this party claims that such actions will continue until the Government of Serbia changes its position towards Kosovo.
Amnesty International requests criminal investigation on police intervention at VV offices (Koha)
The International Organization for the Human Rights, Amnesty International, addressed with an official paper the institutions of Kosovo, regarding the Kosovo Police intervention at Vetevendosje offices, on 28 November 2015. The letter was addressed to the Minister of Interior, Justice Minister, Police Director, Head of the EU, and to the Ombudsperson. The report has concluded that the use of force while arresting Albin Kurti, was excessive and abusive. Amnesty International is concerned about the use of force by the Police, over the arrest of a single individual.
