Executive Director of the municipal administration in North Mitrovica Adriana Hozić said in a talk show broadcasted on RTK2 that the aim of the formation of the Association / Community of Serbian municipalities (A/CSM) is the creation of a body that will defend the national interests of the Serbian community in Kosovo. Ten municipalities with Serbian majority population will act uniquely within the A/CSM, claimed Hodzic, further declaring that the implementation of the agreement on A/CSM has been delayed because of the current political situation in Kosovo.

She claims that the Brussels process additionally impeded the functioning of health care in the north of Kosovo, because of the lack of a concrete agreement about the transport of medicines from central Serbia to Kosovo. Still, she said, the Brussels dialogue brought certain benefits to citizens. “Registration of citizens in the Kosovo system, verification of birth certificates and recognition of diplomas made life in Kosovo easier, but there are still many issues that need to be resolved,” she added. When it comes to the formation of a new Serbian municipality in Kosovo, Hodzic said that Kosovo authorities cannot support it, due to the lack of financial resources.
