The twelfth anniversary of the March pogrom is a time when Serbs are reminded of painful scenes of cultural repression of Serbian existence in Kosovo, stated the Citizens Initiative SDP. In the statement SDP strongly condemns the fact that the organizers and perpetrators of the pogroms in 2004 have not been faced with justice over twelve years later. “Even after 12 years the terror against Serbs continues, the political processes conducted against innocent Serbs, as well as attempts to seize Trepca are evidence of this”, the statement said.
CI SDP members pointed out, that they, as representatives of the Serbian nation, will always ask of the competent authorities to find and punish the perpetrators of the crimes. As stated, “it is an obligation for them to do so, in memory of the innocent people who died during the pogrom, and the demolished monasteries throughout Kosovo.”
