Chairpersons of the Chambers of Commerce of Serbia and Kosovo, Marko Cadez and Safet Gerxhaliu, respectively, have sent a joint letter to the EU high officials and ambassadors of the Quint states in Serbia and Kosovo, in which they condemn recent incidents of Serbian trucks, transporting Serbian commodities to Kosovo, that were overturned by activists of the ‘Self-Determination’ movement. They also requested a reaction by the international community with the aim of preventing similar future incidents, that have already been announced by the ‘Self-Determination’ movement, from happening again.

“The Chamber of Commerce of Serbia and the Chamber of Commerce of Kosovo, strong supporters of the process of normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina, as well as the social and economic recovery of the Western Balkans on its path to the EU, most strongly condemn the overturning of a fully loaded truck on 11 March, as an attempt directed at jeopardizing free circulation of people and commodities,” reads a joint letter forwarded to the Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, Johannes Hahn, the High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini, and ambassadors of Italy, Germany, Great Britain, France and US.

Activists of the Kosovo opposition ‘Self-Determination’ movement have overturned a truck with commodities from Serbia for the second time in ten days and announced that they will continue with similar actions as long as the Serbian government doesn’t change its stance on Kosovo.
