“For us, the most important thing is the firm position of government that diplomas from Pristina University will be relevant in Serbia, bearing in mind that the process of expelling the Serbs, unfortunately, is still going on,” told TV Most Rada Trajkovic from the European Movement of Serbs in Kosovo.  She said that students would like to be sure that they can get a job outside of Kosovo, adding that if it comes to integration, the state of Serbia will continue to financially support the university in the same way.

Trajkovic stressed that for the Serbs in Kosovo is also important to “keep the regional character of the University.” “For us it is important that beside students from Kosovo, students from other areas will study at Pristina University, since the percentage of Serbian population in Kosovo was reduced on 5 per cent, and the process of expulsion is still on-going,” said Trajkovic.

Rada Trajkovic believes that “the University and the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) are the two most relevant institutions for the survival of Serbs in the territory of Kosovo.” “With integration, University does not lose anything. On the contrary University will become more efficient. That does not mean that Pristina institutions will impose personnel decisions and program of the University. The aim of integration is the essential stabilization of University,” said Trajkovic.
