Serbia PM to visit Kosovo on Sunday (Zeri)

Director of the Office for Kosovo in the Serbian Government, Marko Djuric, said yesterday that Serbia’s Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic will visit Kosovo this Sunday. Djuric told media in northern Kosovo that Vucic will visit some of the Serbian-majority places in Kosovo on Sunday.

AAK aims for equality with Vetevendosje in elections (Koha Ditore)

In addition to objecting the agreements on Association/Community of Serb-majority municipalities and border-demarcation with Montenegro, the paper reports that opposition parties are also preparing for the possibility of extraordinary elections. According to the paper, the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) has already come up with a concrete formula on the joint election list. According to this plan, AAK is proposing that Vetevendosje Movement has 40 names on the list running for MPs, AAK also would have 40 names, while 20 names would be from the Initiative for Kosovo and 10 from the civil society. AAK will also leave it to Vetevendosje to choose whether to nominate someone for Prime Minister or to propose the leader of the list.

Ymeri: AAK rejected opposition’s alternative (RTK)

The leader of the Vetevendosje Movement, Visar Ymeri, during an interview with RTK said the opposition remains united in its cause, despite some disagreements. However, Ymeri said chances for a joint election list with the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) are very small because of the differences between the two parties. “If the joint list would happen, of course Vetevendosje would nominate the candidate for Prime Minister and the leader of the list,” Ymeri said. He also added that the opposition tried to present an alternative to the citizens, but “this alternative was almost entirely rejected by the AAK.”

EU welcomes the start of implementation of the SAA (dailies)

The European Union High Representative Federica Mogherini said yesterday the start of implementation of the Association and Stabilization Agreement (SAA) opens a new phase in the EU-Kosovo relationship and represents an important contribution to peace, stability and prosperity in Kosovo and the region at large. Also the EU Commissioner for Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement, Johannes Hahn, said the SAA will help keep Kosovo on the path of reform and will create trade and investment opportunities.
