During the visit of MPs from the Serbian List to Velika Hoca, residents and members of the Council for the Protection of this place complained that the Law on the protection of Velika Hoca is not fully implemented. As an example they mentioned the illegally constructed premises on the territory of the village where building is banned, as well insufficient security, occupied property, administrative obstacles and unemployment. As stated, the Law stipulates more competences for the Council.
“We evidenced their problems and in the next period we will present a report that will highlight the main issues they encounter. Kosovo Assembly Committee on rights and interests of communities has monitored implementation of the Law on Velika Hoca, and this monitoring has brought some results. This year, the Council for implementation of this Law has its own budget, said Slavko Simic,” leader of the Serbian List caucus.
According to the Law on Protection of Velika Hoca, certain autonomy in financing and decision-making is guaranteed for the Serbs in this place, but in practice it is not so.
