General Milovan Bojovic, who was arrested by Kosovo police on Thursday afternoon in the area of the administrative crossing Merdare, who is charged with illegal crossing of the administrative line, will remain in custody in Gnjilane/Gjilan until final judgment of guilt.
Zivojin Jokanovic, a lawyer from Pristina, said this yesterday to Vecernje Novosti, adding that the criminal offense, which the Pristina authorities treat as illegal crossing of the “border”, was punishable by a fine of 250 euros in cash or up to six months in prison.
While explaining that General Bojovic went to visit his farm in the village of Peran, in the municipality of Podujevo/Podujeve, attorney Jokanovic draws attention to the difficult medical conditions of General Bojovic and expects a verdict later this week.
– The General was questioned on a Friday night and in Kosovo, due to the holiday, the Court does not work on Monday. Therefore, I expect that everything will be resolved in the course or by the end of the week – explains lawyer Jokanovic, noting that notorious falsehoods have appeared in Albanian language Pristina media, that the general was charged for alleged crimes committed in the region of Lab, because, as he emphasized, he was not even in Kosovo at that time.
