Conference on durable solutions for displaced persons concluded

(RTK2)

Durable solution for displaced persons was the topic of a two-day conference, which was held in Prishtinë/Pristina. The issue of personal documents was also a topic of this meeting, which was chaired by Kosovo minister for communities and return Dalibor Jevtic.

Institutions from Belgrade, Podgorica, Prishtinë/Pristina and Skopje established technical working groups that will work on durable solutions for return and integration of displaced persons.

Kosovo minister for communities and return, Dalibor Jevtic, said that issues and topics such as usurpation of property, or cases when people cannot solve their personal issues in courts due to lack of personal documents, were discussed in this meeting. He underlined that with the measures and recommendations of this meeting, and their following implementation, they want to assist people in solving these issues.

Representatives of the Serbian Government’s Office for Kosovo said they will make efforts to make the return process more successful and sustainable, a process which despite the major efforts is difficult at present.

Last year, Serbian Government’s Office for Kosovo presented in Warsaw a project called ‘Suncana Dolina’ which, according to their assessment, could offer durable solutions for displaced persons from Kosovo. This project envisages construction of 300 houses in Kosovo north, where over 1,000 displaced people could potentially return.

Security was the main topic of the first meeting held on Monday, whereas the issue of personal documents was the topic in Tuesday’s meeting.

Journalists call on PM Mustafa to apologize for his threat

(All monitored broadcasters, Klan Kosova &KTV)

Dozens of journalists gathered on Tuesday in front of the Kosovo Government building to protest against Prime Minister Isa Mustafa’s threats against journalist Vehbi Kajtazi.

On this occasion, Association of Kosovo Journalists (AKJ) called on Prime Minister Isa Mustafa to publically apologize to reporter Vehbi Kajtazi for the threats he made against him over the phone. AKJ chairperson Zekirja Shabani said that such threats impinge freedom of speech.

Vehbi Kajtazi, who denounced PM Mustafa to police, called on prosecution to carry out investigation independently.

In the meantime, Klan Kosova interviewed PM Mustafa’s brother, Ragip Mustafa. The latter said he was forced to seek asylum in Germany hoping to get an adequate medical treatment for his cancer disease. He emphasised that he sought medical treatment in Switzerland and Germany.

However, Ragip underlined that he did not travel illegally to Germany as he has Bulgarian citizenship which allows him to move freely in the Eurozone. PM Mustafa’s youngest brother said he applied for asylum because he could not afford his medical expenses.

Later during the evening PM Isa Mustafa wrote a Facebook status expressing his gratitude to Klan Kosova for broadcasting this interview with his brother. PM Mustafa reiterated that he did not threaten the Insajderi portal journalist.

“Respected media, tonight TV Klan showed a conversation with my brother, who, as I have emphasised, is in grave medical condition. Unfortunately, in this condition, for motives unclear to me, he became an object to the opinion, pushed by Insajderi portal. His conditions speaks, not for my threats against the journalists, which did not happen in any case, but for the threat of conscience of those that violated the journalistic ethics and impinged a basic constitutional right of a human, the right to privacy,” Mustafa wrote in his Facebook account, online version of Klan Kosova reported.

Bajrami took this decision since Serbia refused to recognise certificates of Kosovo drivers and vehicles transporting of hazardous goods.

“As of today, Kosovo will not recognise the same documents issued by Serbia,” Minister of Finances Avdullah Hoti said. He underlined that this decision has started to apply by Kosovo Customs.

(KTV)

Former mayor of Gjilan/Gnjilane municipality, Qemajl Mustafa, did not deny the possibility of corruption in tenders of the Ministry of Transport and Post-Telecom munitions (MTPT) for maintenance of Gjilan/Gnjilane regional roads.

However, talking at the capacity of a witness in front of the trial panel, Mustafa said he does not have evidence about this.

The MTPT case trial against Fatmir Limaj and others continues on Wednesday.
