Out of 24 Kosovo Serbs who were on election lists in the Serbian parliamentary elections, six of them will have the opportunity to represent interests of Kosovo Serbs in the Serbian parliament.

Zvonimir Stević from the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) is one of those six. He said to RTK2 that most important thing is that there are MPs from Kosovo who would articulate interest of Kosovo Serbs in the parliament. He noted that migration of Serbs from the north of Kosovo is a negative phenomenon that has to be dealt with and that return, for which the international community is responsible, is symbolic and much more has to be done.

Goran Bogdanović from Lešak/Leshak will represent a coalition made by Boris Tadić, Čedomir Jovanović, Nenad Čanak and SDS, and this will be his fifth mandate in the Serbian parliament. He said that he will insist on transparency of the Brussels dialogue and that state is present in the territory of Kosovo.

Slaviša Ristić, former mayor of Zubin Potok Municipality will represent the coalition of Dveri Movement and Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS), whereas most of Kosovo Serbs in the Serbian parliament will come from the list of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), and those are
Stanija Kompirović from North Mitrovica, Milovan Krivokapić from North Mitrovica and Dragan Veljović from Štrpce/Shtërpcë.

Political analyst from Kosovo Azem Vllasi however argues that those MPs can’t do anything because Serbian parliament is deciding about Serbia, not Kosovo. He went on to say that they have only found themselves in a favorable position, instead of being MPs in Kosovo helping their community.
