The suspect of terrorism, Slobodan Gavrić, who had entered Kosovo with around 13 kilos of explosive, and who according to the prosecution intended to commit a terrorist attack, was found guilty and sentenced by the Basic Court in Pristina with 13 years of prison.
Gavric had entered Kosovo in December 2014, and had stayed at Grand Hotel. He was stopped by the Kosovo police for a check in “Arbëria” neighborhood in Pristina, while driving a Renault Clio, where the bag full of explosive was found.
Gavric was arrested and interviewed by the police investigation, which resulted with charges by the Special Prosecution of Kosovo, on 10 July 2015. According to the charges, Gavrić was prepared to commit terrorist crime. He was equipped in Belgrade with 25 explosive devices with the total weight of 12.219 kilos, which contained powerful explosive PETN combined with metallic pieces, bolts and nails, which are used to increase the destroying power and cause a bigger number of victims as well as material damages. Gavrić claimed at the trial that this was not the first time he entered Kosovo carrying explosive and that he was intending to sell it.
