The Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), has reacted through a press release to the statement of the Prime Minister of Kosovo Isa Mustafa, who claimed that establishment of the Kosovo Armed Force (KAF), is conditioned with the ratification of the Agreement for demarcation of the border with Montenegro.

The press release requests from the government of Kosovo not to link up its failed situations.

“The government should not hide its failures, and it should stop deceiving the citizens of Kosovo. The Assembly should immediately, prior to the autumn session, create the Army of Kosovo, and stop taking into consideration appetites and conditionings of the Serbian List on the matter. Kosovo’s Armed Force is a constitutional and political obligation of this government, and it should have happened immediately after its unnatural establishment,” notes the press release adding that this created space for both Serbia and other destructive factors who manipulate with the public opinion claiming that demarcation with Montenegro is a condition for KAF.

The government and the Prime Minister, who cannot manage yet to precede amendments of the Law on KAF at the Assembly, proved that they did not manage to fulfill the constitutional obligation, and they should be held responsible for their continuous failures.

“We, as the AAK Department for Defense and Security Policies   persistently request for KAF to be considered strategic priority, separate from any attempt to manipulate and camouflage it with other situations. Being a national priority for Kosovo, it should be fulfilled prior to any other initiative at the Assembly with an immediate effect,” concludes the AAK press release.
