Demarcation of the border between Kosovo and Montenegro was defined by the NATO multiethnic forces. The entire debate so far on the issue appears to have been vain.
Gazeta Fjala found out that the borderline between Kosovo and Montenegro was confirmed by Kumanovo Agreement, which ended presence of Serbian armed forces in Kosovo.
This agreement has defined Kosovo’s borderline, by respecting the border situation of 1988.
This agreement gives right to Kosovo’s State Commission for Demarcation and rejects all the other claims for the possibility of losing about eight thousand hectares of land.
Article 3 of this Agreement defines the five kilometer zone where presence of the ex-Yugoslav armed forces, Montenegro being part of it, is not allowed.
So according to the documents that Gazeta Fjala claims to possess, the five kilometer zone, known as Ground Safety Zone, starts from the territory of Kosovo, to the Cakorr point.
“The Ground Safety Zone (GSZ) is defined as a five kilometer zone that extends beyond the Kosovo border into the rest of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia,” stresses point 3 of the Military-technical Agreement.
