“If anyone has committed genocide in Kosovo and Metohija it is the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) and its former and current commanders,” said director of the Serbian Government’s Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Marko Đurić.
He reflected on the recent interview of the Kosovo President, Hashim Thaci, to Belgrade-based daily ‘Danas’. “Insisting of Hashim Thaçi that self-declared Kosovo will try to sue Serbia for genocide in front of the international institutions, is only another confirmation that Pristina is making efforts aimed at infiltration into the UN bodies in order to continue the war against Serbia with other means,” said Đurić.
In his statement Đurić said that “former boundaries of the KLA operation zones are turned into the boundaries of zones of interest of criminal clans within Kosovo and Metohija, which are still headed by former commanders of that terrorist formation”.
“Those criminal-terrorist structures have been activated during the pogrom against Serbs in 2004 and during organized campaigns of intimidations of Serbian population in enclaves and returnee settlements in Kosovo and Metohija,” stressed Đurić. He voiced expectation that Special Court for the KLA war crimes will “reveal these structures that are the main obstacle to the peace and safety of Serbs in our southern province”.
