Several media report that Kosovo President Hashim Thaçi has called on members of Kosovo’s Assembly to ratify the border demarcation agreement with Montenegro. President Thaçi posted on his Facebook account: “the closer we get to the day when the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo will ratify the border delineation between Kosovo and Montenegro, the more Kosovo is proving its commitment to a Euro-Atlantic future. New facts have shown that there are no errors in the border delineation process and as a conclusion Kosovo will not lose a single square meter of its territory. These facts have completely overruled the false causes of the opponents of this process that have continuously rejected it over personal interests and political gains. This new positive development has strengthened the political will of the majority of MPs to vote in favour of this agreement. The public in general and members of the Kosovo Assembly in particular have realised the importance of this decision and the fact that it paves the way to Kosovo’s Euro-Atlantic future and it further strengthens its international subjectivity. I once again call on the political spectrum and MPs to rise above any interest and provincial mindset. Let us be united for the sake of our country’s interests. The people of Kosovo and our international partners expect this from us.”
