Minister for Dialogue, Edita Tahiri, said that EU-facilitated technical level meetings between Kosovo and Serbia will continue on Tuesday and Wednesday in Brussels. The issue of free movement and Kosovo dial code will be in the agenda of these meetings.

Minister Tahiri said that the matter of removing the remaining illegal vehicle plates circulating here and there in the northern Kosovo municipalities will also be on the focus of Tuesday’s meetings.

Law on State Protocol violated by several municipalities

(KTV)

Several Kosovo municipalities are violating the Constitution of Kosovo, the Law on State Protocol and Regulation No. 19/2011 of Kosovo Government. These municipalities have not placed the photo of Kosovo’s President in their buildings, no matter that this is mandatory by law. Many Mayors are continuing to violate these laws.

Mayor of Gracanica/Graçanicë, Vladeta Kostic, does not plan to place the photo of Kosovo President in his Office, or anywhere else in the municipality’s building. Kostic, who does not specify if he recognizes the Republic of Kosovo, says he plays according to the rules of game upon which he was elected the Mayor of this municipality. He said that he did not place Hashim Thaçi’s photo because, according to him, he does not want to hurt the feelings of any community.

Deputy Minister of Local Government Administration, Bajram Gecaj, admitted that they have problems with disrespect of state symbols by the Serb majority municipalities, but he said they have the same problem in the Municipality of Prishtinë/Pristina.

Tensions and noise regarding President Thaçi’s photo were also present in Malishevë/Malisevo municipality, which is led by Nisma për Kosovën of Fatmir Limaj. Kosovo state symbols are not either used by Kosovo’s Liaison Office in Serbia as, to the Serbian Government, use of stamps with the Republic of Kosovo comprises a political issue.

Kosovo Prime Minister’s Deputy, Branimir Stojanovic, does not only disrespect the state symbols, but he also disrespects the official language, KTV reported.
