Latest incidents in Mušutište and the return of displaced were the topics of a meeting of the Inter-Ministerial Commission for the return.

During the meeting once again the Serbian representatives in the Kosovo government, Ministers Dalibor Jevtić and Ljubomir Marić and Deputy Kosovo Prime Minister Branimir Stojanović, have concluded that the recent incidents in Mušutište are a big step backwards, not only for the return process but also for all those processes that involve the rule of law.

As announced by the Ministry for Return, representatives of the Kosovo Police during the meeting presented an oral report on the events and their operational work on that day. A series of questions were raised about the failures that occurred that day.

Minister for Communities and Return Dalibor Jevtić, who has chaired the Inter-Ministerial Commission, said that the return of 10 families to Mušutište, after a long period of time, was agreed upon by all the representatives of relevant institutions and that the latest events have a negative impact on the start of the return and construction of houses.

“It is necessary to provide conditions for sustainable return of the displaced than just a need for a visit to this village on a few hours,” said Minister Jevtić.

Deputy Prime Minister Stojanović said that there were many failures of the Kosovo Police and demanded punishment of the organizers of the violent demonstrations in accordance with the law.

Minister of Administration of Local Government Ljubomir Marić also expressed dissatisfaction over the fact that, and this time, the radical groups have prevented freedom of movement and that it was obvious that it was done by those who have usurped the land of displaced who need to return.
