Tahiri: Agreement on licence plates with Serbia achieved

(KTV)

Minister for Dialogue, Edita Tahiri, informed that Agreement on use of licence plates between Kosovo and Serbia has been reached on Wednesday in Brussels.

“Agreement on reciprocity of vehicle licence plates and removal of illegal plates has been concluded today”, Tahiri said, Koha.net reported.

EU welcomes agreement on licence plates, requests negotiations on ASMM, Telecoms and Energy

(KTV)

The European Union has welcomed achievement of the Agreement on licence plates between Kosovo and Serbia, while it called for commencement of talks on Telecoms, the Association of Serb Majority Municipalities (ASMM) and on Energy, online version of KTV reported late on Wednesday.

“The EU welcomes the outcome of today’s discussion and urges both sides to make progress on all other outstanding implementation work, in particular on Telecoms, the Association/Community of Serb majority municipalities and on Energy,” states the announcement of Maja Kocijancic, spokesperson for the EU High Representative Federica Mogherini.

“On Telecoms, extensive discussions took place and progress has been made on key elements for implementation. Both sides agreed to continue the negotiations on 26 September in Brussels under EU facilitation,” the announcement adds.

Serbia does not tell if it possesses Kosovo’s permit for ‘Sunny Valley’

(KTV)

Serbian Government says it possesses all the required documentation for about 300 houses of Serbs, which are expected to be built in ‘Sunny Valley’ Neighbourhood in Mitrovica/Mitrovicë north, while it did not want to tell if it has requested permission from Kosovo institutions.

Through an e-mail response, the Office for Kosovo at the Serbian Government said that works on construction of ‘Sunny Valley’ are happening in line with the envisaged dynamics.

However, Albanian residents of ‘Kroi i Vitakut’ Neighbourhood, who were hindered for many years to build their houses, are calling for a halt of constructions in this neighbourhood.

Albanian representatives in the north say that currently halted works are expected to continue. On the other hand, the Government of Kosovo has already sent its inspectors there to see what is happening on the ground, while it guaranteed that it will not allow construction of anything that is at the harm of Kosovo.

Beginning of construction of these houses was seen as a change of ethnic geography and a tendency for territorial division of Kosovo in the future.

Serbs determined to make Church at University campus functional

(KTV)

For two days now, priests of Gracanica Monastery and other volunteers have cleaned outside and inside the “Saint Nicholas” church building in Prishtinë/Pristina centre.

Furthermore, inside it, they have also started to paint the walls, in which, as Bishop Teodosije of Diocese of Raska-Prizren says they ‘will hold a mass in this church when the conditions will be met.’

But, they did not receive the permit for this action by the Municipality of Prishtinë/Pristina or the Ministry of Environment. Prishtinë/Pristina Mayor, Shpend Ahmeti, said that as far as permit is concerned, this is a competence of the central level. He reiterated that nothing can be built in the municipality of Prishtinë/Pristina without the Municipality’s permission.

On the other hand, Ministry of Environment officials said that the area of this Church is not at the competency of this Ministry.

Through a reaction issued, the Council for Defence of Human Rights and Freedoms (CDHRF) called for solution of this ‘Political Church’, as it states in its reaction, and even requested its destruction.

Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo Branimir Stojanovic also joined Bishop Teodosije on Tuesday’s action for cleaning the church,

Veseli: We will jointly ratify demarcation

(KTV)

There will be no bargaining in offices for demarcation, the Kosovo Assembly Speaker Kadri Veseli guaranteed on Wednesday.

At the beginning of autumn session, after a two-week recess, Speaker Veseli said that demarcation will be ratified jointly, as a way for consolidation of unity, and the Association of Municipalities with Serb Majority will only be established in line with the Constitution.

He said that Srpska List did not present any conditions to him, but even if there were such conditions they would be invalid.

Veseli also responded to the statements of Vetëvendosje MP Albin Kurti, who was quoted as saying that they prevented the war with Montenegro on 01 September.

“War was waged in the 90s. If someone longs why he did not manage to prove himself back then, he should forget that now. It is not good to damage people. We have suffered together,” Veseli stated.

AAK caucus leader, Pal Lekaj, said that there is a deep political crisis and everything that governs now in Kosovo are the two agreements which are leaving Kosovo’s development aside.

The Assembly Presidency decided to hold the first plenary session for the autumn session on next Thursday, 22 September. Most other TV broadcasters reported that demarcation with Montenegro will not be in the agenda of this session.

Rasic: Position of Serbs regarding demarcation remains unchanged

(TV21)

Srpska List Member at the Assembly of Kosovo, Nenad Rasic, stressed that Serb MPs have not been invited to any meeting concerning the agreement on demarcation of the border with Montenegro.

He said that the position of Serbs, in Kosovo institutions, remains unchanged while there are no talks with Kosovo officials about this agreement.

EULEX stands ready to support Kosovo on its European path

(RTK1)

The overall cooperation on rule of law issues and the importance of a continuing partnership between Kosovo and EULEX were the topics of discussion between the Head of EULEX in Kosovo, Alexandra Papadopoulou, and the Prime Minister Isa Mustafa.

Papadopoulou reiterated that ‘EULEX stands ready to support Kosovo on its European path in further tackling the challenges of the rule of law,’ reads a press release issued by this Mission.

She also underlined that Kosovo institutions continue to make use of EULEX’s on-going support to judicial authorities and law enforcement agencies in order to enable a smooth transition of ownership and responsibility during the current EULEX mandate.

Grabovci does not speak about wiretaps

(All monitored broadcasters, Klan Kosova)

Adem Grabovci went on Wednesday to the Special Prosecution, but his vehicle did not undergo control by the Police, which is obligatory for any vehicle entering this place. Because of this, three police officers, who are suspected of having neglected their official duty, were suspended for 48 hours, Klan Kosova reported.

Meanwhile, Adem Grabovci faced three special prosecutors, who are investigating him for two criminal offences.

Former PDK caucus leader, Grabovci, did not tell them anything more than who he is, and what functions he has exercised. The lawyer instructed him not to say a word about the wiretapping affair. However, he could not refrain from ironic comments when he came out of the prosecutors’ offices. “I was here today to make some appointments, but I should move on,” Grabovci stated.

For additional comments, he told reporters to address his legal representative.

Grabovci’s lawyer, Florent Latifaj, said he has advised him not to respond to prosecutors’ questions on wiretaps because EULEX did not provide a clear response to one of his requests.
