The management of Pristina University issued a reaction today expressing concern over the latest developments surrounding the Orthodox Church that is located within the university campus. The university’s management called on Kosovo’s institutions to use political and legal channels to return this property to the university. The reaction noted: “The management of Pristina University, namely all its professors and students, are concerned over developments surrounding the Orthodox Church that was built on the property of Pristina University. The process how this building was constructed in our property is known to all and so is the legal basis that was provided by a regime which for decades promoted and exerted violence and terror. Nonetheless, we hope that our institutions will use political and legal channels to clarify the situation and to return our property so that together with the students we can continue the path of academic advancement for all. This position should in no way be seen as interference with religious freedoms and the respect for all communities in Kosovo which must be protected and respected”.
