The people who survive in this area represent one of the pillars of the Serbian existence in Kosovo and today’s holiday is a good opportunity to send the message to the entire Serbian people that Serbia without Kosovo has no meaning, said the Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Marko Đurić in Gračanica.
Kosovo police did not respond to requests to provide security for the priests and the believers to pass along the main street in Gračanica on the occasion of the feast of Nativity of the Theotokos. The procession passed after the liturgy around the walls of the monastery, but not by the planned route.
Bishop Teodosije served the liturgy, attended by the Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Marko Đurić, Novi Sad Mayor Miloš Vučević, representatives of Serbs in Kosovo institutions, representatives of local institutions in Gračanica which today marks the founding day of the municipality.
