Kosovo Assembly MP from the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) said that Kosovo is not experiencing its best days when liberalization of visas is concerned. Haliti made these comments during the meeting of the parliamentary committee for Stabilization Association where they spoke about the liberalization of visas and preparations for the second Kosovo-EU meeting which will be held on 23 and 24 November in Brussels.

Haliti and the other MPs of the committee for European Integration visited Brussels where they met with EU representatives, Tanja Fajon and Urlike Lunacek.

Haliti said that he told the two EU representatives that Kosovo has fulfilled all the EU requirements for visa liberalization.

“The main issue remains signing of the agreement on demarcation,” Haliti said. He added that if this does not happen very soon, the matter will stagnate for a long time being that Kosovo would not be in the same position after the new elections at the EU.

However Vetëvendosje MP Donika Kadaj-Bujupi, said that it is not true that only one criteria is an obstacle. “It is demarcation as process, not the decision on demarcation. The main criterion is war against corruption,” Kadaj-Bujupi said and added that liberalization of visas is being delayed because this phenomenon is not being fought. “We have lost the support of many countries which is very bad for Kosovo,” she concluded.
