Simic: Srpska List does not get directives from Belgrade

(RTK1)

Srpska List Caucus chief, Slavko Simic said that Srpska List does not get any directives from Belgrade while the endorsement of the Serbian Government to Srpska List, according to him, implies better support for Kosovo Serbs.

“We, as representative of Serbs in Kosovo, have our own initiatives and ideas which we present here in Prishtinë/Pristina. For us, the support from Belgrade is very important.  In previous years our political representatives participated in the institutions of Kosovo but lacked the support from the Government in Belgrade.  Now we function much more easily as we have Belgrade’s institutional support,” said Simic.

In an interview for RTK ‘Info3’ show, Simic said that Serb MPs boycotted Kosovo institutions due to adoption of the Law on Trepça. He said that they are determined to oppose this Law even after the negative ruling of the Constitutional Court.

“The boycott came due to the adoption of the Law on Trepça. What should we say to our citizens’ and to the 3,000 Trepça workers, if we continue to remain in institutions which have neglected us for this important Law? We want more respect and honesty to overcome this issue,” he said.

Simic said that Srpska List has other serious remarks regarding the establishment of the Association of Serb majority municipalities.

“This working group for the establishment of the Association has been created but nothing has happened. We have two members from south and two from north, but this is not important at all. For us, it is important to deal with this issue in institutions as soon as possible. We might return in institutions and discuss the issue of Trepça and start dealing with the Association,” he concluded.
