Citing data provided by the Central Bank of Kosovo, several news websites report that Kosovo citizens living abroad have sent €500 million to Kosovo in the first eight months of the year. A considerable increase in remittances is apparent compared to the same period from the previous year. Official data show that most remittances from the diaspora to Kosovo came in August and the total amount of funds from banks, transfers and other means was €98.6 million. “€56.7 million came in January, €48 million in February, €51.9 million in March, €57.2 million in April, €56.7 million in May, €59.2 million in June, €70.2 million in July and €98.6 million in August,” the Kosovo Central Bank report said.
