Republic of Ghana opened yesterday in Pristina an honorary consulate which will work on promoting political, economic and cultural ties with Kosovo. The consulate will also be in charge of issuing visas as well as promoting Ghanaian investment in Kosovo. The honorary consul, Valon Lluka, said this was the first and only African mission in Kosovo while Ghana’s Ambassador to Ankara, Ibrahim Abaz, said political relations with Kosovo were established in 2012 following Ghana’s decision to recognise its independence.
