Yesterday in the municipality Leposavić/Leposaviq in Sočanica a protest was organised due to the construction of the health house that has been initiated by the decision of the Mayor of Leposavić/Leposaviq Dragan Jablanović and funded by Pristina, which in their opinion allows infiltration of Pristina into Serbian health system in the north of Kosovo.
Interim authority of the Municipality of Leposavić states that the decision was made arbitrarily by the Mayor Dragan Jablanović, since it was not approved by councillors, as any of the projects that Jablanović wants to realize. They state he violated the provisions of Article 40 of the Law on Local Self-Government which clearly defines the powers of the Municipal Assembly under the Kosovo system.
They state the case of the kindergarten in the village Lešak which was built by the European Union and which has not been opened because the mayor does not want the object within the system of Republic of Serbia than in the system of Kosovo, which would push education de facto into the Kosovo education system, despite clear position of the Government of the Republic of Serbia.
President of the Municipal Assembly Zoran Todić says that ”the main issues was unclear, that is under which system this health house would operate, because if there is no agreement of the Clinical-Hospital Centre and the Health Centre in Leposavić, then there is a suspicion that someone is creating parallel structure” Todić said, who also stressed the policy of the Government of the Republic of Serbia in regards to the health care and education in Kosovo.
