ITU allocates +383 telephone code to Kosovo (media)

Most news websites quote Kosovo’s Minister for Dialogue, Edita Tahiri, as saying today that the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) has officially allocated the 383 international telephone code to Kosovo. “We want to inform the public that in line with the telecom agreement, the ITU has published the telephone code for Kosovo. This news is a historic achievement in the area of telecom and it strengthens the international subjectivity of the state of Kosovo. Minister Tahiri and the working group consisting of Kreshnik Gashi, professional coordinator for telecom and chairman of the ARKEP Board, Gazmir Raci, political coordinator for telecom and advisor to Minister Tahiri, Ilir Imeri, director of the ARKEP frequency management department, Rexhë Gjonbalaj, chairman of the Kosovo Telecom Board, Mehdi Latifaj, technical director of Kosovo Telecom, and Zana Bejta from IPKO, congratulate all the people of Kosovo for this achievement,” a press release noted.
