Lladrovci wins Gllogovc/Glogovac mayoral elections

(All monitored broadcasters, RTK1, KTV)

Second round of extraordinary mayoral elections was held on Sunday in Gllogovc/Glogovac. PDK candidate Ramiz Lladrovci of Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) and Isa Xhemajlaj of Nisma për Kosovën were in the race for mayor’s post.

Monitors of these elections constantly reported about irregularities in different voting centres. During the morning hours, the number of citizens who exercised their right to vote was low compared to the first round; however, this situation changed in the afternoon, KTV reported.

In the meantime, around 19:30hrs, when the polling stations were closed, the Central Elections Commission (CEC) held a press conference. CEC Chairperson Valdete Daka said that turnout in the second round of elections in this municipality was 45.39 per cent, higher than 40.55 per cent in the first round. She also said no major irregularities that would violate the integrity of elections happened, RTK1 reported.

On the other hand, the NGO Coalition Democracy in Action reported that out of preliminary results from counting of about 95 per cent of polling stations, Ramiz Lladrovci is the winner of run-off elections in Gllogovc/Glogovac, online version of RTK reported.

According to Democracy in Action, Isa Xhemajlaj of Nisma për Kosovën got 37 per cent of votes, while Ramiz Lladrovci of PDK got 63 per cent.

The Coalition for Electoral Integrity also held a press conference and said that PDK candidate Ramiz Lladrovci won these elections. Driton Selmanaj of this Coalition said that Lladrovci won 68 per cent of the votes, while Isa Xhemajlaj won 32 per cent.

Nisma për Kosovën in Gllogovc/Glogovac accepted the defeat in run-off elections in this municipality. Nisma MP Enver Hoti said his party was in the race, as he said, with the ‘institutional machinery.’

The PDK candidate, Ramiz Lladrovci, also held a press conference where he said that he won run-off elections. He told journalists that he is already the Mayor of Gllogovc/Glogovac Municipality.

Shortly before 21:30hrs, CEC announced preliminary results of these run-off elections. According to these results, which were announced by CEC Chairperson Valdete Daka, PDK candidate got 62.69 per cent of the votes, whereas Isa Xhemajlaj of Nisma got 37.31 per cent.

Goran Rakic block delimitation of administrative borders

(KTV)

It has been nearly a year since the process of division of administrative borders between Mitrovicë/Mitrovica South and Mitrovica/Mitrovicë North has started. However, the process has been blocked, mainly by the Mayor of Mitrovica/Mitrovicë North, Goran Rakic.

He has set some conditions, in order to set the administrative border between his municipality and Mitrovicë/Mitrovica South, KTV reported. If the borders will be set according to the Ahtisaari Package in Suhodoll Neighbourhood, Rakic has requested removal of five municipal councillors of PDK, LDK and AAK, who were elected by Albanians who voted from this neighbourhood in local elections, from Mitrovica/Mitrovicë North Municipal Assembly.

“We have not signed it due to a simple reason, and that is because we still have Albanian municipal councillors who are from Suhodoll, and it were these citizens who voted in the electoral process in the north. We have political representatives working in the northern municipality and they bring decisions, while in the field we are being requested to give up a part of the municipality. If we would sign this then we would not respect the electoral will of the people. Among others, there are more Albanian than Serb residents there,” Goran Rakic said.

To the Albanian municipal councillors of the north this is absurd because they say no one knows from which neighbourhood they got votes, having in mind that votes are secret.

Delimitation of administrative borders between these municipalities derives from the 25 August 2015 Agreement signed in Brussels.

Vetëvendosje accuses system of justice

(Most monitored broadcasters, KTV)

Vetëvendosje Movement accuses the system of justice and current authority of aiming to remove this political entity from the political scene.

Death of Vetëvendosje Movement activist Astrit Dehari in Prizren Detention Centre as well as arrest and terrorization of numerous VV activists, according to the presidency member of this Movement, Sami Kurteshi, is proving this, KTV reported.

He said a year ago, about 80 activists have filed criminal reports against Police for use of violence in 28 November last year, when the Vetëvendosje building was attacked.

According to Kurteshi, all legal ways will be followed to find justice.

Three young Serbs physically attacked

(RTK2)

Three young Serbs from Partes/Partesh were physically attacked by a group of young people in village Gërnqar of Klokot/Kllokot municipality while they were leaving a local pub in the early morning hours of Sunday. Slobodan Savic and Marko Mirkovic received body injuries and were urgently sent to the hospital, but their health situation is stable.

Kosovo Police stated that they have arrested four suspects in relation to this incident. According to the Police, three suspects are Albanian and the fourth is a Serb.

One of the victims claimed that attackers were Albanians. According to the victim, they were attacked without any reason.

Office for Kosovo at the Serbian Government and Srpska List strongly condemned this attack.

Stankovic appointed as deputy minister of Labour and Social Welfare

(RTK2)

Kosovo Prime Minister, Isa Mustafa, in consultation with Srpska List, has appointed Boban Stankovic as the Deputy Minister for Labour and Social Welfare, RTK2 reported quoting an article of GazetaExpress portal.

In October 2008, Stankovic was replaced as Minister for Return and Communities by the former Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi. While serving as Minister for Return and Communities, Stankovic was accused of employing family members and friends in this ministry.
