Kosovo’s Foreign Minister, Enver Hoxhaj, said in an interview for KTV that Prime Minister Isa Mustafa acted rightly when he dismissed Ljubomir Maric from the post of Minister of Local Government and Administration. “Maric cannot be reinstated. He was my colleague but his dismissal was a long time coming due to his actions,” Hoxhaj said. He added that the wall in Mitrovica North has to be brought down as it was not part of any agreement signed between representatives of Kosovo and Serbia. Hoxhaj also spoke about the recent actions of the Serbian List taken following consultations with Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic saying they are unacceptable. “[Serbian List] is an instrument of Belgrade in Kosovo. They do not represent the interests of the Serb community in Kosovo,” Hoxhaj noted.
Hoxhaj said the PDK will win back the majority of municipalities that it lost in the previous local elections. He blamed Mitrovica South Mayor Agim Bahtiri for the construction of the wall in Mitrovica North. “We will win back most of the cities. Mitrovica is going to be one of the victories. We have all witnessed that when a mayor comes from a smaller party, we end up with walls that they don’t see … I don’t want to deal with people from the local government. Mitrovica is a strategic city. I call on the people there to understand its importance. If there is a city on which the stability of the Balkans depends, it is Mitrovica.”
