Patriarch Irenaeus of the Serbian Orthodox Church on Tuesday sent a Christmas message urging the faithful to live in mutual brotherly love – the love of Christmas.
May Serbia revive from this Christmas onward, and may its families be filled with joy and full of children playing, he said.
Irenaeus particularly urged the faithful to pray for “the crucified Kosovo-Metohija, our spiritual and national cradle,” noting that Kosovo “would remain our land as our Golgotha and our Jerusalem are there.”
“As long as there are Serbs, there will also be Kosovo,” noted the patriarch, urging the faithful to pray for extinction of enmities among nations and disappearance of heresies and schisms.
