EU with great support for Kosovo regarding train

(KTV)

Kosovo has gained great international support after recent developments with the train and last week’s action of Serbia was strongly condemned.

From its diplomatic sources in Brussels, KohaVision has learned that it is clear for the European Union leaders that this was an unacceptable provocation by Serbia’s part.

“But, publically, Brussels must maintain a neutral position, particularly toward the Serbian Prime Minister, Vucic, who it sees as the only person with whom Kosovo issue might be discussed with, and it is absolutely against the approach of President Nikolic and his statements that if lives of Serbs are put at risk, they will bring the army in Kosovo,” diplomatic sources stated for this TV broadcaster.

This is also verified with the latest statement of European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Federica Mogherini, who has supported the approach of Prime Minister Vucic and sees him as an important partner of the EU.

On the other hand, Kosovo is trying to make the international public aware of Serbia’s actions through international media. Kosovo President, Hashim Thaçi, recently spoke with Reuters news agency, saying that Serbia is being led by Russia’s mentality in relation with Kosovo.

Serbian PM Vucic also softened his stances following a meeting he had with the US Vice President, Joe Biden. He said that Serbia does not want war and use of weapons.

PM Mustafa determined for establishment of Association

Provocations from Serbia have increased, but Isa Mustafa assures Kosovo citizens to feel safe. At the Government meeting held on Wednesday, Prime Minister Mustafa said that all institutions are at the top of their duty.

Besides this, chief of executive said that his cabinet is determined to implement law and order and constitutionality throughout territory of the country.

But, these words of Prime Minister were not heard from his Serb subordinates. Nevertheless, he had a call for them too.

“Once again I call on Serb ministers to return to Government, but those ministers who respect the Constitution, law and institutions of the Republic of Kosovo,” he said.

Mustafa also said that his cabinet is determined to establish the Association of Serb Majority Municipalities.

“We will start with its implementation in harmony with the Constitutional Court’s judgment and the first agreement, but with participation of Serbs and other communities in this process. This process will be open and transparent, both for the institutions of Kosovo and the opposition,” Prime Minister Isa Mustafa stressed.

Mustafa also urged the leader of Mitrovica/Mitrovicë North to demolish the wall constructed in this area based on the law, or the Government will do it.

Prime Minister once again said that dialogue with Serbia is a strategic orientation and it will not be stopped.

Veseli: We are way more powerful than in 90s

(RTK1)

Kosovo Assembly Speaker, Kadri Veseli, said that threats of Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic might be very real and serious; however, according to Veseli, Kosovo cannot back away since, as he said, “we are way more powerful than in the 90s.”

In an interview with Radio and Television of Kosovo, Kadri Veseli said that Saturday’s action of Serbia was a testing provocation, but he said that “we are not able to understand what Serbia had and has in mind with this testing.”

“Such a provoking tentative, through paintings and slogans that evoke evil spirits of the 90s, is really concerning,” Veseli said.

He also commented the statement of Serbian President, Tomislav Nikolic, who threatened that he will go to fight in Kosovo with his two sons.

Veseli also said they will remove the wall, but Serbian state will take over the responsibility for the ones that aim to provoke such actions.

Commission for measuring Kosovo territory to meet on 24 January

(Most monitored broadcasters, KTV)

First meeting of the government commission for measuring the territory of Kosovo will be held on 24 January this year.

Government once again invited the opposition to become part of this commission that aims to solve the issue of demarcation with Montenegro.

In a press release issued, Government informed that all the invited ones have confirmed their participation in this commission, except Vetëvendosje, AAK and Nisma për Kosovën.

According to Government, two representatives from Rugova area have also confirmed their participation.

Dismissal of Ambassador Alma Lama requested

(KTV)

Vetëvendosje and Nisma për Kosovën requested dismissal of Alma Lam from Ambassador’s post. They requested this at the Assembly Foreign Affairs Committee with the initiative of Vetëvendosje MP Puhie Demaku.

The request, which was proposed to be sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was made due to the language used and insults that Lama did to journalist Xhemajl Rexha and KTV.

Other members of the Committee from coalition parties criticized the approach of Kosovo’s Ambassador to Italy, earlier a LDK MP, but they did not support the proposal for her dismissal.

Nevertheless, Committee chairperson said that cases like this when the Committee requested dismissal of an Ambassador did not happen earlier; therefore he proposed requesting a report from Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the measures it has taken regarding Ambassador Alma Lama.

Ymeri: Serbia’s diplomatic campaign can be followed with a military campaign

(Summary of Klan Kosova Zone B show)

Vetëvendosje Movement chairperson, Visar Ymeri, told Klan Kosova Zone B show that Serbia has launched an aggressive diplomatic campaign against its neighbours, which can later turn into a military campaign.

He said that “weakness of Kosovo as a state” attracts opponents of independence and increases their appetites.

“It is obvious that there is a sort of increase of Russia’s aggressiveness, which is also reflected with Serbia’s increase of aggressiveness. We have constantly said it that the lesser we are prepared for war, the more it will threaten us. We do not have an army, because Aleksandar Vucic does not allow it. The warmongering discourse of the 90s has increased, which is being led by the same people in Serbia. The neighbouring country is getting prepared for a diplomatic campaign, which it might continue with a military campaign,” Ymeri stated.

Ymeri further said that with the train Serbia wanted to prove it has sovereignty over the northern part of Kosovo.

“The train had more political messages than something practical. The very idea of the train and its unimpeded entrance in Kosovo shows that Serbia wanted to present it as a part that is under its sovereignty. More importantly, I believe, is that Kosovo Government’s focus at the train and the wall is deficient, because the impression is being created that stopping of the train and removal of the wall will be final solutions for the north,” he underlined.

Vetëvendosje chairperson also said that a part of Europeans have forgotten the crimes that Serbia committed in Kosovo, therefore they see the country as a problematic state in the Old Continent.

Among others, Ymeri said they aim to persuade internationals that dialogue with Serbia does not normalise the inter-state relations, but it aggravates them, taking the wall construction and the train with nationalistic symbols as an example for this.

According to him, two countries should have good relations, as a necessity to move forward, but only when Serbia will recognise Kosovo and the inter-state reciprocity.

He also said that Kosovo Army cannot be formed while dialogue with Serbia will go on.

Ymeri said it still is not clear whether the case of intervention of state institutions for Saturday’s event was a positive signal, or just another adventure in the row of government officials.

”Intervention of these institutions with their adventure costs a lot to Kosovo. These adventures cost a lot to the country. We cannot wait any longer; Kosovo must create its army. We cannot make the army by talking with Vucic,” Ymeri stated in Klan Kosova Zone B show.
