The Commission of experts for measurement of the territory of Kosovo, gathered today for the first time.

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, stressed on this occasion that the EU should be aware of the territory it recognized, the territory where the independence was proclaimed.

“Therefore, it is good not to cause confusions and clarify these things. It is also good for those who have had different opinions and for all the citizens to clarify the issue,” Mustafa said. He added that a precise answer would have been beneficial for everyone, Kosovo people, the Assembly of Kosovo, including here the governing coalition and opposition, institutions of Kosovo and the international community.

“On behalf of the government, I would propose for Hivzi Islami, head of Kosovo’s Academy of Sciences and Arts, to lead the works of the commission, and from this moment, I will leave this issue under his leadership. We value determination and work of everyone and we hope for it to be independent, responsible and professionally ethical,” Mustafa concluded.

Despite the invitation of the government, opposition parties did not participate at the meeting.
