Construction of the new support wall in Mitrovica North has kicked off this morning, following the demolition of the previous support construction in vicinity of the main bridge. The precise date of the opening of the reconstructed bridge cannot be predicted for the time being, said Mayor of Mitrovica North, Goran Rakić.
The begging of construction of the new support wall was attended by the representatives of Mitrovica North Municipality and Ministry for Spatial Planning. Construction of the wall is a phase in designing the park area there, as well as the reconstruction of the St. King Peter the First, which will be turned into a pedestrian zone.
The issue of delineation between the Mitrovica North and Mitrovica South is still without solution, said Rakić to RTS. “The one that is offered to us is contrary to the law and our interest, it is plundering the part of the territory of our Municipality”, said Rakić.
“I would kindly ask international representatives, when it comes to problems from the domain of higher politics, to refer to our government in Belgrade and the Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić, in whom we have the full trust,” added Rakić.
