Pal Lekaj, deputy leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), said in an interview to the news website that the coalition consisting of the PDK, AAK and NISMA (PAN) has the necessary votes to form a new government. Lekaj also said MPs from other parties will support PAN’s candidate for Prime Minister, Ramush Haradinaj. “Haradinaj will never test MPs into something that is not in Kosovo’s interest. In this respect, I believe there will be MPs from other parties that will support the PAN’s candidate,” he said. According to Lekaj, so far there are four MPs from different parties that will vote in favor of Haradinaj. “Ramush is also working on an agreement with the LDK. In 2014, LDK abandoned the VLAN coalition and joined a coalition with the PDK. The LDK, on several occasions, proved it was reasonable and willing to help the country emerge from a crisis,” he added. Lekaj also said Haradinaj’s potential cooperation with the Serbian List will not be against Kosovo’s interests. “Haradinaj has offered equal treatment for all citizens of Kosovo, including hte Serbs. We say no to a submissive policy vis-a-vis Belgrade and Haradinaj will under no circumstance accept conditions that are detrimental for the state of Kosovo,” he added.
