Kosovo police officers seized 918 new health cards on Monday from the director of the branch of the Republic Health Insurance Fund for the municipality of Gnjilane, Jovica Antić. The cards were seized about 15 hours at the administrative border Bela Zemlja, reported RTV Puls.
According to Antić, he was returning from central Serbia with an official vehicle with health cards. At the administrative crossing, he reported to the Kosovo police what the content of the official package was.
As a reason for taking away health cards was that each individual card besides the name of the insured person had and the place of residence, that is the municipality of Gnjilane, Republic of Serbia.
“The Gnjilane municipality is not located in the Republic of Serbia,” members of the KP told Antić, RTV Puls reported.
The Kosovo police issued a confirmation to the director Jovica Antić about the seizure of health cards, stating that the cards were seized because they were issued “by parallel Serbian structures”.
