Serbian Defense Minister, Aleksandar Vulin, stated KFOR is the only institution that Serbia holds responsible for securing and preserving peace and security in Kosovo, Serbian media reported.

Vulin made these remarks during the meeting with Commander of NATO Operations Command, General Curtis Scaparrotti.

“There is no other army in Kosovo and Metohija than KFOR. This responsibility cannot be transferred to any other institution or organization, so we expect that NATO takes a stance that the change of a mandate and transformation of the Kosovo Security Forces into the armed forces is unacceptable,” Vulin stated.

The two officials also spoke about strengthening the mutual trust and understanding, while Vulin assessed that maintaining regular contacts at the highest level between Serbia and NATO is of crucial importance to build peace and stability in the region.
