Ramush Haradinaj has returned to the Office of Prime Minister after over 12 years and has taken over the reins of government in completely new circumstances. However, his cabinet will include only two female ministers from a total of five deputy prime ministers and 21 ministers: Albena Reshitaj, Minister for Environment and Spatial Planning, and Dhurata Hoxha, Minister for European Integration. This means that the Haradinaj government will not have even 10 percent of women representation, as Reshitaj and Hoxha make up only 9.5 percent of the cabinet. This is the smallest percentage of women representation compared to governments in Albania, Serbia, Montenegro and Macedonia. Percentage of female ministers in the region: Albania 50%, Montenegro 21%, Serbia 19%, Macedonia 15% and Kosovo 9.5%.
