The United States Ambassador in Kosovo, Greg Delawie, said today that Kosovo has improved the climate for doing business and added that entrepreneurs must fight corruption. “It is apparent that your interest in developing entrepreneurship coincides with the 2018 Doing Business Report, moving from 60th to 40th place. This is evidence of progress and shows that you are on the right path. I see young entrepreneurs trying to reach global markets and this shows that there is progress in accountability and transparency. USAID continues to support small enterprises. 620 million were given to cover 577 loans for small and medium sized enterprises … Corruption hampers Kosovo’s economic development therefore it must be fought. Find ways to fight it, corruption hides in the dark, shed light on it, avoid dubious favors. We also need to do much more in improving the employment of women and communities, to help women get better positions in the economy, raise your voice, take a chance, we will support your imagination for doing business,” Delawie said.
