The Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Kosovo, Ruairi O’Connell valued establishment of the Reconciliation and the Truth Commission, initiative of the President of Kosovo Hashim Thaci.
O’Connell said it is very important for youth to understand what has happened and agree not to repeat the war. He offered his support for any need of the commission.
“I value this initiative which is very much welcomed and needed for Kosovo. It is clear that Kosovans are those who lead the process, while the internationals, your friends, support it. But it is a process for Kosovo and it is very good that such step is undertaken today. If you need help, we will be here. I am pleased to see the civil society and I hope that there will be results. It is very important, especially for the youth, to understand the truth and agree not to repeat war conflicts. I wish you success and thank you for inviting me,” O’Connell said.
