Kosovo Assembly Vice President from the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Kujtim Shala, said in an interview to the news website, that his party did not initiate the establishment of the special court. In response to PDK leader and Assembly President Kadri Veseli’s recent remarks that the LDK is rejoicing the special court, Shala said: “the special court is beyond our power. The LDK believes the special court is an arbitrary mechanism that cannot be undone. It was impossible not to establish the special court. It is apparent that this mechanism is one of Kosovo’s basic conditions in terms of international support and partnership. Any action that does not take into account this fact can be very damaging to Kosovo’s interests. Therefore, efforts to undo the special court can result in unpredictable consequences”. Shala also said the LDK views as “crucial the cooperation with our friends and the guarantors of our state”. He added that any interpretation that makes unfounded accusations against another political party is highly detrimental for political relations in the country.
