The new leader of Vetevendosje Movement, Albin Kurti, does not see a division in his party. During his first press conference after being elected, Kurti said resignations of some leadership members do not mean division of the party.

“The solution is active participation in our bodies. There is no division, but resignation by certain structures and not resignation by the membership, and consequently, not resignation by our program that we have written together. We are not a formal, unanimous sect, to be identical. Different opinion and discussion is allowed here, this is a value and wealth of the movement,” Kurti said.

He added that he does not hold grudges with anyone and he would not revenge anyone.

“I have an iron will not an iron hand. We want an organization where critique and self-critique is encouraged and not an organization that would have insults, swearing and abuse by those in senior positions,” he said.

Asked about the relation with former secretary of the party, Dardan Molliqaj, who had requested from Kurti not to run for the leader of the party, Kurti said “we are MPs of the same parliamentary group.”

He added that he had a strong faith that he would be his counter candidate however “this did not happen with his fault.”

He denied reporting that he is called “father” or “commander” at Vetevendosje. “No because we are not at war, we are in peace and I am only leader of Vetevendosje,” Kurti said.
