The Prosecution of the Special Tribunal gave explanations with regards to the upcoming indictments that are expected to exacerbate former KLA members, which were raised only on suspicions raised by the Dick Marty Report of January 2011.

Asked if the Special Prosecution has received or will receive charges raised by Serbian authorities for former KLA members, Chris Benett, official from the Special Prosecution said charges will only be raised based on the claims of Dick Marty’s report in 2011. “The Specialized Prosecution is focused on fulfillment of its mandate. This mandate comes from the Special Law on Specialized Chambers and Specialized Prosecution endorsed by the Assembly of Kosovo in August 2015. According to this legislation, the Specialized Prosecution is able to investigate and prosecute serious trans boundary and international crimes that occurred during and after the Kosovo conflict in 1998, 1999 and 2000 regarding the conduct identified in the Marty Report of January 2011, ” he said.
Bennett finally said he does not comment on the status of the investigation.
