Jan Hecker, foreign policy adviser to the German Chancellor Angela Merkel, is visiting Kosovo. He has started his meetings with Kosovo institutional leaders. The unavoidable subject of these discussions is demarcation, for which the German official requested from Kosovo Assembly MPs to approve it.

Hecker met with the President of the Assembly, Kadri Veseli. Gazeta Express learned that the two officials discussed current developments in Kosovo, especially the agreement for border demarcation with Montenegro.

From 2015, Hecker was coordinator for refugee policies at the Office of Chancellor Merkel, while from 2017, he replaced Christoph Heusgen as principal adviser to Chancellor Merkel.

Heusgen is currently serving as German Ambassador at the United Nations.
