According to diplomatic sources, the West awaits results from today’s Vucic-Thaci meeting in Brussels, under the auspices of the EU High Representative Federica Mogherini, Danas daily writes today.

“Although there was no progress during the last round of technical talks regarding ZSO, it is possible that Vucic and Thaci would finally agree to establish a working group that would deal with this matter, however chances for reaching such agreement are rather slim,” Danas continues referring to its sources.

Some members from diplomatic cycles even claim Vucic has a deadline till June to present the plan for Kosovo, in order to amend the Constitution of Serbia by December 2018, or latest by January 2019.

According to earlier Danas findings, it goes in the interest of Berlin and Washington that Belgrade and Pristina pen a legally binding agreement by the end of this year, while Moscow considers “hasty decisions should not be made,” and the West is “deceiving” Serbia with its talk about the establishment of the Association of the Serb Municipalities.

Danas went on saying that over the last couple of months, President Vucic appeared certain that Serbia would get the north of Kosovo, however it seems now the West is not ready for such a scenario and that the status of Kosovo for them is a fait accompli and that Vucic seems rather disappointed.

President Vucic was not explicitly told that Belgrade has to recognize Kosovo, but as it looks now, it would become a requirement in the future, Danas sources claim.

Its sources further added Berlin did not give up on sending a delegation to Belgrade, and it would happen shortly, however the change in a timing occurred over the fact that Belgrade-Pristina technical negotiations ended up in Brussels without progress.

Meanwhile, President Aleksandar Vucic announced a new round of internal dialogue on 31 March with the participation of civil sector representatives, Danas daily concluded.
