Kosovo President Hashim Thaci met recently with Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj and Assembly President Kadri Veseli to discuss the formation of a working group for the Association/Community of Serb-majority municipalities. The news website contacted the government spokeswoman, Donjeta Gashi, who said that after the ruling of the Constitutional Court, the process has to be reviewed and then the statute of the Association will be drafted in the near future. “The government has set up a management team tasked with drafting the statute upon receiving instructions from the government. So far there is no concrete initiative on the matter. Institutions are in full coordination. Whenever there are news we will notify you,” Gashi said. She also said that the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo is the only reference for drafting the statute. As for the government’s role in the process, Gashi said it has neither the mandate nor the will to act in opposition with the Constitution.
