Vetevendosje leader Albin Kurti said today that Kosovo’s priority should be the unification of Mitrovica and that this should not be sacrificed over a seat at the United Nations. Kurti said Kosovo should not give away its territory in order to get UN membership. “I am not against a seat at the United Nations, but we cannot compare the unification of Mitrovica with a UN seat,” he said. Kurti also said that Kosovo’s authorities should engage in dialogue with local Serbs. “Belgrade’s aim is to create another Bosnia in Kosovo. Serbs want to divide Kosovo,” he added.
