Vetevendosje MP Glauk Konjufca, said today that Kosovo should reach consensus on defending national and state interest. Speaking at the round table “Kosovo-Serbia dialogue and EU enlargement perspective” organized by Group of Legal and Political Studies, Konjufca said it is wrong to reach a consensus only to fulfill the wish of some political figure.

According to him, any official and institutional agenda should defend state interest. “If we consider the content of this consensus and if projects which are in contradiction with the interest of the country appear, then Vetevendosje does not participate in them. So far, it happened to us to see a fatal mistake that happened due to the government’s weak representation of Kosovo’s interests. In relation with Serbia, our recognition was divided from the declaration of state. We should have not gone beyond compromises of declaration of the state. Serbia wants to impose to us a phase of new compromises, trying to wrap it up with a future process, recognition of Kosovo by Serbia,” he said.

Konjufca added that dialogue with Serbia should be led by government, not the President. He criticized PM Ramush Haradinaj’s action of  handing over the report for dialogue to President Hashim Thaci. To him, this was a scandalous action.
